1Assuming you mean a vasectomy for a man? Stay off your feet for the day after surgery, then all's well. Not a lot of pain or suffering, not a lot of swelling. It's about as uncomfortable as a couple bad knicks shaving yourself.
If it's a woman, that's a whole different story. She needs to have real abdominal surgery. For that she can be laid up a week or more. Much better that the man suck it up and get sterilized than to put that burden on his wife.
